Twitter has restored the blue verification check mark to many high-profile accounts, just days after removing the mark from accounts that don’t pay for the subscription service Twitter Blue. Some celebrities and journalists have insisted they did not sign up for the service, raising questions about how Twitter decided which accounts to re-verify. Among those whose blue check mark was restored were New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, actor Elijah Wood, and astrophysicist and TV personality Neil deGrasse Tyson.
