Google Meet has announced new 360-degree video backgrounds for its mobile users, allowing them to have a more immersive video conferencing experience. The new feature is available on both iOS and Android devices, but it is still being rolled out gradually to users.
According to a recent blog post by Google, the 360-degree backgrounds use the device’s gyroscope to create a dynamic experience that moves with the user. The backgrounds currently include a beach and a temple, with more likely to be added in the future.
In addition to the new backgrounds, Google has also launched updates for developers, including the ability to add interactive widgets like radio buttons, checkboxes, and dropdowns in chat app cards. These cards can be posted in the Chat message stream and allow users to modify information quickly and easily.
Earlier this month, Google also introduced a new feature that allows users to add captions to meeting recordings, making them more accessible and useful for participants.
